Agricultural Engineering Plays A Very Important Role In Increasing Production And Productivity Of Agricultural Crops, Thereby, Increasing The Income Of Farmers. Also, Timeliness Of Farm Operation Through Efficient Agricultural Implements And Machinery As Well As Appropriate Land And Water Management Activities Along With Efficient Post Harvest Technology And Processing As Well As Efficient Energy Utilization Are The Important Areas In Which Agricultural Engineering Profession Has Been Playing Major Role. The College Of Agricultural Engineering And Technology Is One Of The Constituent Colleges Of The Junagadh Agricultural University. The Junagadh Agricultural University Came Into Existence After The Bifurcation Of The Gujarat Agricultural University (GAU) With Effect From May 1, 2004. The GAU Was Established On February 1, 1972 Under The Gujarat Agricultural University Act, Act No. 13 Of 1969 Of The Government Of Gujarat. Under The Faculty Of Agricultural Engineering And Technology, The College Of Agricultural Engineering And Technology Came Into Existence In March-April, 1984 At Junagadh Campus Of Gujarat Agricultural University (Now Junagadh Agricultural University). The College Offers B. Tech. (Agri. Engg.), M. Tech. (Agril. Engg.) And Ph. D. In Discipline Of Soil And Water Engineering, Farm Machinery And Power Engineering, Processing And Food Engineering And Renewable Energy Engineering. The College Of Agricultural Engineering And Technology Has Been Accredited By The Indian Council Of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi And Also Accredited By The All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE)(2008 To 2013) , New Delhi And Institution Of Engineers (India), Kolkata. College Is Located In The Heart Of Junagadh City At About 4 Km From Railway Station And 3 Km From S.T. Bus Station. The College Has 6 Ha Land Including The Land Occupied By The Building. The Total Building Area Is About 14000 Sq.m. In Addition To This, An Instructional Farm Of About 34 Ha Is Maintained With Modern Agricultural Machinery And Implements For UG & PG Students And Demonstration For The Farmers. The College Has Well Developed Laboratories, Modern Class Rooms, And Computer Laboratory And Seminar Halls. LAN Internet Connectivity To All The Departments, Labs, Library And Wifi Facility To The Students. The Other Aminities Provided To The Students Are Well-equipped Boys' And Girls' Hostels, International Hostel For International Students, , Mess, Canteen, Training And Placement Cell, Student Counseling, NSS, Health Services, Sports And Games. The Alumni Association Is Working To Serve As Global Terrace For All The Alumni To Meet And Interact For The Development Of The Profession So As To Serve The Nation In Related Matters.
